Delay in giving death claim

LIC is asking for post mortem report, magistrates certicate, statement of witness, FIR report, Local doctors, report even after submitting a number of papers like death certificate, doctor's statement in the prescribed form of lic,

This is a vicious circle. After submission of papers a new letter comes asking for something new. the policy is of 40 000 Rs. I requested them to give me back the amount of paid as premium, they say it is not possible because the policy is joint and the other partner is dead. I have foolishly invested around 46000 in various policies. I have stopped paying and discontinued all other policies as i am sure my nominees cant get anything as the procedure is dam slow, complex, non cooperative, and even agent does not take any interest.

LIC I beleive is good if a person does not die.
