Excess billing

Hi Sir/Madam

This is Raj R from Chennai 91, For the past 6-8 months the Electricity Board forcing as to pay the Average Charge (nearly 2300 Rs) whereas the original meter reading charges 600 to 900 Rs. During the winter season as per meter reading the billing was just 600 Rs but we forced to pay 2300 Rs. The EB member claimed that there is problem in meter, so we are charging the average billing. We have given written statement for the meter replacement, but after a long time of the satementthe EB members came for meter replacement and after checking it, they said there is no issue in the meter and ensured that there will be no issue in the billing. But on the same month again they have charged the average amount (2300 Rs). Then I went to AE of Madipakkam EB regarding the issue. He said the meter replacement will be done within a week, its month happened, yet no response. Two days back again went to EB and asked regarding the issues, they sail "We wont change the Meter, you have to average billing.

I don't understand, one of the EB member who billing says "meter issue and gets excess amount" and another says there is no issue and meter.

Nowadays there is nearly 2 hrs power cut in our cities, do i have to pay the average amount in spite less usage of current?
