Cheque bounce

Hello,

One of my business partner gave me a cheque of Rs 2800/ - in the name of axis bank dated : 18 / 01, but when tried to clear the cheque to get my money. the bank people told, the person who gave the cheque doesn't have sufficient balance in his account and more over he is absconding, so Could you please guide me, what should i do to get my money back?
