Claim Settlement

In Sept' I was hospitalized for treatment of malaria. I had informed my insurance agent to follow up and do the necessary procedure. However, he forgot to inform the TPA [Medi Assist]. After submission of claim, it got denied mentioning that no intimation was given within 7 days of hospitalization. What should be done in such case? Is there a way to put legal dispute for the same?
