I approached District Land Records' office, Opp. Narmada Bhavan, Kothi, for measuring and fixing of boundary of my ancestral agricultural plot.

I paid Rs. 1800 towards urgent measurement within 15 days, but the surveyor despite several follow-ups came after 45 days only. Also, he measured existing area of the plot, and not as per the 7/12 records. And, he denied fixing of the boundary as it is not his duty. Infact, the surveyor manipulated the actual measurements and declared the plot to be same size as per records. When I opposed his observations, he denied fixing the boundary. But, now I have the manipulated map of the land he submitted to the District Land Records' office, which shows wrong measurements done by him.

I was advised that, boundary can be fixed only if the measurement is done for the entire plot (comprising of 5 sub-plots owned by different farmers) under same Survey No.. Hence I contacted another surveyor for the job of measuring entire plot under same Survey No. They measured the plot, but didn't submit any map and neither fixed the boundary. Since, I negotiated the deal to pay against fixing of boundary only, so I am saved of money.

There is a nexus of surveyors and officers of the District Land Records' office. Jointly they ask from Rs. 12, 000- Rs. 15, 000 for each job submitted tot the office. Official tariff for this as fixed by government is Rs. 600 for normal and Rs.1800 for urgent basis.

They harassing the farmers and general public to an extent that you pay up their demands. In my case,

I would like to know what are the rules for measuring of agriculture land and in what time-limit they should complete the job.
