In my TransUnion credit file I have 2 trade lines that were disputed by National Credit Care on January 23. According to to the Fair Credit Reporting Act a creditor has 30 days to respond to the dispute. It has been over 30 days since the inital dispute and the accounts remain unchaged - and inaccurate as a result.

If the purpose of the Fair Credit Reporting Act is to protect consumers, who is enforcing it? I have spoken with TransUnion multiple times over the last several weeks and they keep referring to their standard processes, which include waiting 30 days for a creditor response. However, when I call it apparently restarts the dispute clock - starting a cycle which will potentially never end.

Further, the nature of the disputes on the 2 accounts in question is that they do not belong to me. I have repeatedly told TransUnion that the accounts are mine and I would like those comments removed. Interestingly, Experian and Equifax have no issue updating my accounts in a timely manner. In fact, Experian had the accounts update in 24 hours! Nice work Experian!

My experience to date with TransUnion has been very poor and disappointing.
