I have Demat account 1.5 years back and haven't used at least once. After i lost my password I sent lot of mails to send new password, but it landed in deaf ears. So i decided to close the account, and sent an email from their ICICI website asking to close the account; They replied asking to send written request in mail; So I did, and the account was closed.

I have Savings account associated with Demat account. Since i haven't used not at least once, this account went to dormant state and in bank statements received they said contact ICICI to activate this account. Even in dormant state they started applying Debit card, minimum balance charges to this account.

Pass this information to as many people as you can. Beware of ICICI!
