SUB: Seeking retraction of extra dues charged against pre to postpaid conversion

Dear Sir/Ma’am

I would like to bring to your kind notice that I have been a loyal Airtel mobile telephony subscriber under the name Hilal Siddiqi and number 9906632266. I have been using this allocated number for the past few years, however earlier the number was registered in the name of my company, Kanwal Spices. I was still using the number after getting it converted to prepaid with ease till the point of time directives were issued by the Centre and all prepaid numbers were to be demobilized. I had no option but to convert the number to postpaid since all my business contacts have this very number. Thereof, as you can very well understand, your mobile number is like your “second identity”. I retained as an Airtel subscriber even though I was offered various options by other mobile services providers in Kashmir and that too at cheaper rates. But I preferred to stay with Airtel. For the past few months I have noticed that my mobile monthly bills are carrying along an amount of 5000 INR in addition to the regular and applicable tariffs as per usage. I used to pay my tariff and usage amounts while as I did not pay the extra money, which by all means is superfluous. When I contacted customer care through IVR I was told that my prepaid to postpaid conversion had cost me 5000 bucks. I fail to understand why did that happen? And after all was said and done my mobile number (aforementioned) was barred.

Now I would like to lodge a complaint pertaining to charging of extra money, 5000 INR in this case as prepaid to postpaid conversions do not cost that much and in fact do not cost at all. I would request your kind self to revert the excess payment and resume my number in terms of service with the shortest possible time. I would like to inform you that I have been suffering business losses owing to the barring of my number which runs into lakhs of rupees.

I am hopeful that my case would be solved and wouldn’t have to lodge a case with the consumer court. I, as also my company has a long standing relation with Airtel and let us hope you honour that.
