Nightmare stay

My stay at Clarkes Exotica Airport hotel, Bangalore was for 4 days with people from across India attending an international dance workshop. The experience started with being unpleasant (villa with no door lock, bathrooms with poor fittings and no transport facility to travel from the villa to the main block, villa was open for use after 3 hours of wait when the booking was done 60 days in advance). It got worse as the 1st evening my bag was looted (mobile and cash) during a dance workshop and the manager refuses to meet me to discuss this and my written complaint was not acknowledged even 2 days later. Finally was privileged to meet the security officer who was polite enough to apologise that he received my letter from his front desk staff only 2 days later but declared that the hotel is absolved of this responsibility. Another person from my group had his suitcase being looted when he was away from the room and has filed a complain with the police.

This atrocity continues with more folks losing cash, mobiles, bags and even clothes over the next few days with not 1 complaint being looked into. To make matters worse, the manager's response to a complaint is some rude yelling that the resort is crowded and we cant keep complaining of a theft in a public place. How does a hall inside the resort for which we have paid entry become a "public place" is an issue of great confusion to me till this moment.

Day 4 I return to my room to find another guest sleeping on my bed (male guest in a room shared by 3 women). The manager's response was that they were overbooked and we can only request the guest to move to a different room. Why we were not requested/intimated or how the same hotel rooms gets circulated between multiple guests beats my imagination and sense of hotel management. While we are taking this up legally, im posting this as a note to fellow travellers to know the real scene behind a 5 star resort (supposedly)!!
