Overcharging taxes and prices

Hi,

Recently I visited OHRIS Restaurant in Hyderabad for dinner.

After having dinner when I asked for bill, I was surprised to see that they have charged me way above then prices mentioned.

Its fair if they charge VAT and Surcharge on VAT...

But they have charged 14.5% as VAT and 10 % service charges and above this there were some other charges which were 13.09%.

On asking the Manager about these charges he was not able to justify, and simply said that these are levied by GOVT and are deposited as taxes.

To my surprise VAT in other restaurants is much lower as compared to what OHRIS have charged.

For proof I have also attached copy of invoice with details of taxes.

I would just like to know are these restaurants entitled to put service charges and what are the taxes they can charge.
