Damage to Household goods

I had booked my Household goods to be properly packed and shifted from Guwahati to my residential address at Khanda Colony, New Panvel through Assam Dooars Roadways (P) Ltd. on 13/07 vide consignment note no 043 dated 13/7. The assured date of delivery was within 15 days from date of booking, however the consignment was delivered at my residence on 11th August and most of the goods were received in damaged condition. The following major damages have been observed

1. One Sony wega TV, and Sofa set is damaged due to improper handling by the transporter.

2. One Double bed and sofa set is damaged as it appears to have been immersed in water

The total cost of the damages will be approximately Rs.17000.00 (Rupees Seventeen thousand only) Considering the damages are on account of negligence on part of the Transporter the claim may not be entertained by any Insurance Company.

I have been contacting the transporter at Guwahati, however there is no positive response.

In view of above I would request appropriate action against the transporter to compensate me for the losses.
