Arrogant / Abusive Behaviour by the Bunk officials

I had a very bad experience in "Sri Sai Balaji & Co" Petrol Bunk; Bharat Petroleum dealers No.67 & 68 R.M.V. 2nd stage Sanjaynagar Main Road Bangalore 94:

I went on fill petrol to my car on 30 Jan. As usual i initially asked them if they accept debit cards for payment. After he said yes, I asked him to pump in full tank of Petrol.By the time the it was done, before i notice the actual amount, he closed the meter and i was not able to get the exact amount as to how much petrol was filled in.

In spite of this bad behavior from the petrol vendor i gave him my HDFC debit card for payment which he claimed it as Rs. 2, 095 (Two thousand ninety five only) for which I agreed to Pay.

But the vendor made a mistake in entering the amount while billing through my debit card and gave me a bill for Rs. 20, 095 (Twenty thousand ninety five only). I observed this error and complained him about the error. He called his superior and explained the issue.

Both the worker and the superior showed a very bad behavior by showing arrogance and giving unnecessary and unlawful justifications that everyone can do a mistake. They told that they will initiate a stop payment. But the issue did not sorted out there, since it was my debit card, the amount of 20, 095 (Twenty thousand ninety five only) was immediately debited from my account. When I told him about the loss. He continued to show arrogance and was not ready to accept his mistake. Instead he said it that there is only a mistake of ‘zero’ and said it’s a minor error.

He harassed me by wasting my time by doing no other work. Finally after a heated argument with him I was able to get to a point where he agreed to pay back the remaining 18, 000 amount in cash. But even for that he asked me to give him a address proof copy as if he is an authority, I myself had to go and take a photocopy of my Driving License and gave it to him as a proof of my identity. And he also took my signature that I have received 18, 000 Rupees.

In spite of all these he didn’t had any regret on his part on the mistake he has committed. Instead he started yelling with abusive words to me and my parents who were there with my when this incident happened.

I had an important work and he has wasted 30 minutes doing nothing. He was talking as though he owns the bank and can do a stop payment immediately, and even if he does so, why should I waste my time to get the amount from bank for his irresponsibility

This kind of social behavior on the part of a petrol vendor is unacceptable; remember this is an essential service that you are providing to the consumers.

What if I did not had the exceeded amount in my bank account. I would have to pay a penalty for the false transaction as per the bank rules.

I appeal to Bharat Petroleum to immediately cancel the license of this Bunk and take a strict and stringent action against the culprit for his irresponsible and abusive behavior towards customer. Keep me updated on the actions taken against culprit.

Money is not the criteria here, Social behavior and responsiveness to customer, which your employees has to learn a lot and have no signs to learning. Honesty and Integrity is a main concern, I am not expecting them to treat customers as kings, at least they should learn Social behavior and responsiveness to customer and give an appreciative service to the customer. I understand that mistakes happens by Humans, showing unresponsiveness and
