Poor mileage

I have purchased Tata nano in may after doing a lot of survey by surfing on the net regarding the claim made by the company regarding ts fuel efficiency ..but i am surprised that my car Tata nano BS IV LX is giving us only 12 km per liter mileage .in delhi .i have total 14 years experience of driving... can anyone help me out in this matter... is something wrong with my car
