Poor Quality of Cars

I bought one Tavera in 2008.On 16/01 one of piston connecting rods broke and damaged the engine requiring major overhaul at an estimate of Rs 140301.18

The vehicle was sold and serviced by Sundaram Motors, Chennai. The vehicle has completed 72228 km. The manufacturer refuses to make good the vehicle citing expiry of warranty period of 2 years or 50000 km. The breakage is due to purely on manufacturing defects and for below the standards. The cause of damage is also not known.
