Subject: Report on Custom Officers at Hyderabad Airport for Corruption

1. Lady - Called to be superindent with no ID (AGE around 50) - Main

Corruped officer

2. Pratap (Custom officer) (AGE around 52)

3. Thin guy with low voice for collection of money (Aged around 55)

Amount Paid: No Customs Bill directly into their Pocket.

i am working in south africa, recently i was

travelling from Durban (south africa) to hyderabad on

emirates flight EK 525, arrived at 8.30 PM on 24th December

When i enter to customs they scanned my luggage and demanded Money of

3600. after few conversations they reduced to rupees 2000 as i said

one of my camera was old one.

They use all kind of tractice and they grouped. I was asking to give

the bill and they said it will be very much more if they have to give

the bill and said they will check item by item and put all the rates

including for clothes and the bill may go to rupees 10, 000.

Any one can easily see how good behaving they are with pleasant words

but when comes to money they will start irritating and cheating

people and government.

This is my second experience in customs one was in MUMBAI way back to

1999, and again in 2009 in Hyderabad.

To trap this guys its very easy, next time i am planning to take a

recorder and put on the website & chain mails to expolore these

idiots.

I think there should be someone continuously trapping them as it is

one of the biggest area where

90% of custom officers will become corrupted, even if a person do not

want to get

corrupted, the other officers make them to get involved.

If possible can you please update any status of action.
