Items stolen from luggage

I and my son Thomas Joseph were supposed to travel from Los Angeles, CA, USA to Cochin, India on January 27th via New York and Kuwait. Our route was LAX-JFK- KWI-COK. But our American Airlines flight (AA2) got cancelled due to some technical problem on 27th and the American airlines staff changed our tickets to Etihad airlines via Abu Dhabi on 28th (LAX-JFK-AbuDubai-COK). We started from LAX on 28th via American airlines and Etihad airlines and reached cochin safely. But our accompanying baggages were not reached cochin with us.

I made a claim to Ethiad airlines for our lost baggage and we received our baggages after 2 days (Feb 1st), but the baggages are damaged, opened and many of the items in the baggages are either lost or damaged. I informed the airline authorities at the spot itself about the mischief happened and the reference number is " COKEY 10267". still now i didnt get a positive response from airline. I lost many invaluable things. This is really a horrible experience for me.
