Cancellation charges for infant (3months)

I have made a booking from makemytrip for my friends Father, his wife and kid (3 months). for some reasons i had to cancel the booking from makemytrip. they charged 1000 each for adults that is fine but they charged 1000 for infant also. i paid only 808 rs but they charged 1000 for cancellation. i called customer care of makemytrip and they said it's airlines rules we cann't help you.
