Halting of train
Halting 9-car trains more conveniently at Tambaram Sanatoriam station

The booking counter at Tambaram Sanatorium Railway station is at southern end of the platform. The Sub way is also at the southern end of the platform. therefore commuters book their tickets and wait at nearest point to board the train. Normally 12 car trains are spread from South end to North end and is very convenient. Whereas 9car formations are almost less by 1/3 of the platform size. The first coach reaches the end of platform, near signal. This results in the passengers waiting at thr southern end of the platform to run towards the train and enter the compartment where already rush prevails. This exercise is more difficult for aged, women and passengers with luggage or babies. There is absolutely no harm in halting train a little ahead of the signal so that the last coach for the trains towards Beach is positioned close to southern end of platform, at Tambaram Railway station.
