Very Poor Mileage

I have been using Hero Honda Splendor Plus bike for the past 1.5 years. HERO HONDA-One of pioneer in assuring CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In June I have purchased Hero honda Splendor Plus bike. From very beginning it gave me a mileage of 45-50 km/ltr. As per the splendor..one of award winner... it must give the milage of 60 Km/ ltr. The sound of the engine also changes as soon as it reachs to the 50 speed. Having all this i was quite However, this time the road that entangled with the engine and kick, has broken. HOW CAN A ROAD OF STANLESS STEEL BE BROKEN.
