New Car coming with a Sub Standard Car Battery

I bought Honda Civic car from Ring Road Honda in Delhi in Nov.

My decision of buying the Honda Car was based on nothing else but quality product & that's why I agreed to shell out more money as I was under impression that I am buying quality product.

No doubt that worldwide Honda is a very big brand & known for its quality products.

But definition of 'worldwide' by Honda standards includes only developed countries and not developing countries even though as of now these big companies r surviving on the basis of the business they r generating in developing countries. But even then they follow double standards in terms of quality of their products & services in a developed country & any other country like us.

Normally a car battery comes with a warranty of 3-5 years, if it is purchased in Retail market, but I was quite surprised to note that Honda fitted car batteries comes with a warranty of 12 months only & that too counter guranteed by the OEM's. It simply implies that Honda is sourcing sub-standard batteries & getting it fitted in their expensive cars.

Battery of my car went out of order within 3 years, even though I had 4 years warranty at the time of purchase of car, but Company simply refuted to replace the battery by saying that they hv mentioned very clearly in their booklet also that Co fitted battery comes with a warranty of 1 year.

I had no other option but to buy a new battery of the same brand BUT YES now with a warraty of 4-5 years from the manufacturer who is an OEM for Honda

It is clear indication on part of Honda to use sub standard batteries just to cut the corners.
