Gas connection

I want to get new Gas connection for my home. When I approched nearest HP gas agency I was asked to pay Rs. 5700 that includes a new stove also. I want only gas connection without Stove because i have got a new gas stove as a gift during our new house warming ceremony. Is it mandatory to buy stove with new gas connection?? If not how to resolve this issue. i dont want to pay so much. Can anyone pls help me???
