Fire in the cabling of one week old Scorpio. Vehicle not being replaced

Mahindra Scorpio has a serious safety issue. The wiring under the dashboard, just near the steering wheel caught fire.

The vehicle is only ONE WEEK OLD. It has NOT BEEN TOUCHED BY ANY NON-MAHINDRA MECHANIC so far. It has been driven only on city roads and thick smoke started coming from under the steering.

To all this agony, Mahindra's response is not to replace the vehicle but just replace the wiring. BUT, even after thorough examination Mahindra was unable to determine the cause of the fire. HOW WOULD CHANGING THE WIRING ENSURE CUSTOMER's SAFETY?
