Inappropriation in refueling and lackadaisical attitude on complaints

1. On 13/12/10 at around 1500hrs I, a serving Indian Army Officer had visited Modern Filling Station to refuel my car, a Honda Jazz. The fuel indicator needle was nearing Empty and the digital indicator (displaying the range my car could run with the available fuel) displayed 55 km. I asked the operator to fill petrol worth Rs 500/- and gave him the money while sitting in the car. The operator immediately started fuelling my car without indicating to me the “Zero” on the meter. However I did see the meter running later on and when the meter stoped. Since i was getting late for my other engagements, I drove off form the station. However immediately on leaving the station i realised that even after refuelling more than 9 ltrs my fuel indicator needle had just not moved and the digital indicator displaying the range was still at 55 km. Since i was in a hurry i proceeded for my work at that moment.

2. At 1800hrs, the same day i went to the manager available at that time and complaint about the misdemeanour. Along with the manager i questioned the operator, who although promptly recognised me, completely played innocent. The manager informed me that perhaps there must have been some problem with my fuel indicator. On this i asked him to fuel up my car once again for Rs 500/- . Immediately on refuelling, both the fuel indicator needle & the digital indicator displaying the range changed appropriately. I showed the same to the manager, who was in agreement to the astonishment i had gone through.

3. The manager told me that he would speak to the owner and get back to me within 24hrs. I paid the money and after giving my mobile no, left the station. Today (14/12/10), i once again visited the manager, as i did not receive any call from either the owner or the manager himself. on questioning he informed that he could not speak to the owner. On asking, he gave me the owners card. I tried the nos on the card but the office no was not in use and the residence no has been busy indefinitely.

4. Request advise me further action.
