Ad custoemr service and full of lies

I have given my Chevy Optra car for repair and servicing after it was hit badly on rear side. I go to this Orange Motors Service center, in Sanath Nagar, Hyderabad, who is one of the authorized service dealer for GM, for getting an estimate of the repairs. I was asked to come the week next (starting Aug 2nd) and it would take 3 days to repair. There was a service agent called Dasarath who took my vehicle. I filled in all insurance (Oriental insurance) papers and the surveyor had come in to take finish the survey details. Two things happened:

1. Estimated quote given to me was at least twice than that of what they agreed after Surveyor had discussed with them. This was rude shock on how these supposedly authorized GM service center can fleece customers this badly. Shame on GM for patronizing such service centers

2. It was agreed that I pay it up directly to service center first and then I get claims from the insurance company. Fair enough. This guy Mr Dasarath says he will give my vehicle with all repair and denting by Wednesday evening. Ok.. That's impressive.. Since it is not a roadside repair shop, I believed him.

Bingo... I called up that guy Dasarath on Wednesday at 4 pm telling I am starting from my office to pick my vehicle.. he says.. It is not ready... till that point he did not even have basic courtesy to call me to inform that it is not ready... ok.. cool.. he said he will give it on Thursday (next day / Aug-5th). Ok.. I said please call me if there is any issue... He said there is painting workshop is in repair state that's why delay else everything is completed. I can't go and verify if their workshop had issues or not.. I BELIEVED HIM.

I call up on Thursday Aug 8th.. same update repeated.. sir painting workshop still not working there is some problem. it will be repaired by end of today (Thursday) and vehicle will be ready by Friday at any cost... He said in fact all work is complete, there were some air bubbles due to rain.. (???). Non-technical guy in Automotive, I though hmm may be.. I said Friday he must give me a call... Friday comes and I call up this guy and find that this is not ready.. Paint is still wet... he asked me to come on Saturday 11 am./ I had plans for long drive on that weekend... Gone...

I wanted to go and really verify this paint work shop problem but could not go there.. Saturday I landed at 11 am to find that the work had started on the rear side panel .. Preparation for actual painting.. I wanted to take my vehicle out..but their manager comes in and says what is the problem.. I explained the whole problem.. U know what... THIS IS WORST PART OF THIS SERVICE CENTER... The manager was shocked to hear me say that your paint shop was shutdown due to repair for two days... He asked me who told you this... LOW AND BEHOLD.. Mr Dasarath denies saying this.. That's when I lost my fuse... but then the manager given me commitment to deliver my car by 4 pm.. Finally I go to the Service center .. the car was ready by 5:30.. There is no remorse... " ***** I have decided never give car for servicing at this place. ***". They not only rob you on lot of money, but are very bad at their basic customer service... There is one more guy (I do not want mention the name), who keeps guiding this guy Dasrath, ' just say you did not tell that .. why do you agree... we tell many things... ". It’s such a shame...

********* GM guys are you listening? By the way I never had to go through this personally such things in Bangalore ever.. There may be things people go through, but here the service is at it’s worst state **********

Icing on cake.. These guys have taken the mail ids of the insurance agent and myself to send the pics of the completed car status... when I call them why the bill and the pics are not sent, they say, some guy had taken the pics in his mobile and he is now at Pune... The manager now says that's not our job.. Agreed.. I never said that's their job. They agreed to send it and I was confirming all through till Saturday evening about this and they are ok to send it... Biggest lesson...

1. NEVER GO TO ORANGE SERVICE CENTER FOR YOUR CHEVY CAR SERVICE. Try the alternate service centers .. which had given me very good service. This time on I could not go there because of the distance from my home.

2. ITS ONCE AGAIN PROVEN THAT GM SERVICE NETWORK IS VERY POOR as they got stuck with such poor service standards in their authorized service centers...

Looks like they wantedly drive me away from Chevy car again or even suggest to any of my friends any time in future.. IF that's what they want it.. so be it...
