Fooling people by manupulating pump readings

I have observed many times while filling petrol in my vehicle that petrol pump staff tries to indulge you in conversation and other staff mean while manupulates the reading of pump. This mainly happens with females.

So my request is to all that while filling petrol in your vehicle pay attention to only pump readings starting from zero to how much you want and dont pay attention to any of the talks initiated by other petrol pump staff till you are done with petrol filling. Strictly keep your eyes on reading, petrol pump staff usually manupulates readings manually when you loose your eye contact with pump readings.
