Negligence on part of contract

I shifted my home from delhi to amritsar. I got my delivery after one month. The owner made lame excuses to delay the delivery. The packets were given to some transport service who did not know how to handle the things. The company persons never turned up. They too 500 bucks for unloading and unpacking the goods but the delivery person refused to do so. I could not check the condition of my things at that moment. Later on I found some broken crockery and non functioning electronic equipment.
