Defective item sold and refused to exchange it

Dear Sir.

This is for your kind information that I bought a bag. item name Fa-UIAW 09ACLHNAKBHB-835 CHERRY, MF No. 2266300 on 07.03.10. from Spencers Retail Ltd outlet at the Mani Square Mall 164/1 Maniktala Main Road, Kol-54, worth Rs.699.30 vide bill no.1257.

However just after 15 days I noticed the cherry coloured lining of the bag was peeling off from the corner, I thought it may be a minor problem which shall not proceed further but the problem continued, so on 03.04.10 I took the bag at the outlet and placed my problem at the sell counter. I was reffered to the Department Manager namely Mr. Shravan Mishra. I showed him all the relevant documents and the defect in the item.

He denied to address my problem and said that Spencers has no liability whatsoever for bags. I requested him to place the matter to higher authority but he refused to do so more over he threw the challenge that I may take the issue to any higher authority but it shall not be dealt in a better way. It is relevent to mention that at the time of purchase quality was assured by the salesman.

I look forward to your platform for justice, I have mailed the matter in details to the customercare@spencersretail.com but the behavior that I received from their representative and the way I have been cheated has compelled me to refer to this forum.
