Selling products more than printed MRP

Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited is manufacture of Killer Brand Jeans, they also have Retail shops.

I visited one of there shop @ 1st floor Raghuleela Mall, Kandivali on 30th July around 2 PM, I selected one Jeans the MRP printed was Rs. 1, 399/-, at the payment counter the cashier told me that now the MRP is changed and you will have to pay 1, 599/-. He also told me that we have received new MRP stickers and we are in process of replacing the new MRP stickers.

My question is once they have cleared goods @ certain MRP (which is Maximum Retail Price) and pay the Excise Duty on the same, can they replace the MRP stickers on product?
