Sudden change in notice period

I have resigned yesterday (03-05) due to my personal reason and I got a call from HR, i requested him to relieve me early and i am ready to buyout but they won't accept. Even if my manager relieve me, i should serve 3 months notice period even i don't have any work. What a policy ya...
