Battery Backup and Antivirus software

I have recently purchased a dell laptop. I was told that the Antivirus software i got (McAfee) is for 15 months duration. But now, after one month of purchase, it shows that my limited trial period for antivirus software is finished and i have only few days left for the use of the software. Please help me out...

Also this laptop has got the battery issue... the battery empties so rapidly that it takes only an hour to be totally empty.
