Dell / Inspiron 15 R Laptop
Not able to operate / starting

I guess the problem might be with the OS, i tried to update it but to no avail, since even to update it has to restart and it doesnt. i am trying to avoid reinstalling the OS in order to save my data. and after that it has also started getting extreamly hot.have not been able to anyhting for that.
