LAPTOP malfunctioning

I purchased tx 1320 us and just when warranty expired, the wi fi broadcom disappeared tried to contact HP and total cost they are saying for the rectification is nearly $400

but it is so stoopid when warranty expires system malfunctions... and there is no rectification for same.
