HP - Compaq

I had purchased this laptop, Compaq (now HP) in April'09 for 32K. This laptop has a good configuration, though it does not run any applications and was purely used at home for emails, browsing, etc. In Sept'10, it was not switching on. Upon taking it to a HP service centre, they opened it up, took 300 bucks from me and said 'mother-board is gone, it would take approx 17K to fix it'.

Just imagine, a 1.6 year old laptop with home use and mother-board is gone. It is absolutely unacceptable to spend 17K on this machine with such minimum usage and my original 32K is now down the drain.
