I bought HP Pavilion dv-5, 1102 TU model laptop in the month of December in 2008 and its been one year and my warranty has expired. Its not been one year one month and i started getting problems with my laptop. When contacted HP help desk i was shocked to know that HP has no extension on Warranty plans and this decision was taken by them in the month of Oct / NOV. There was no email or a call from HP for the same. I did booked a complaint with HP on 13th jan and 19th jan (complaint no: 4609321512) and was asked to submit the laptop for servicing and further checking. I was quoted Rs.8500 for battery and heat sink issues. This is shocking for me and was informed that it will take 1 week to fix the issues. I think this is a plan by HP to get more money from customers. They send email and other updates for servery but failed to call and send email on such an important thing on canceling/ updation of warranty peroid. How they can miss such an important update to their customer. Customers loosing faith with such a BRAND.I ask the company to compensate for the same for not mailing and calling their customer that the warranty will be not upgraded and poor quality of products being sold that work only for 1 year. I want Consumer Forum to take some action against them. Awaiting for a positive revert from the concerned team.
