Defect in Laptop Delivered

I am Ankit Bansal a student of IIM Calcutta and i purchased a lenovo Think Pad laptop L421 through pan IIM Deal which was done through the dealer Ingram Micro India Ltd. Bangalore.

The laptop was to be delivered by 25th of June but the delivery was delayed by almost two weeks and i received my Laptop on 6th of July'2012 in the IIM Campus. I was shocked to find out that the laptop stopped working on 9th of July'2012.

When i communicated this problem to the dealer and the manufacturer they told me that the Mother board needs to replaced. I don't want to keep this defective machine and i asked the dealer to replace it.

They told me that it would take around a month to replace it and i just can;t afford to spend 1 month without a laptop. So i asked them for a refund of my money.

However, they have stopped responding and i am absolutely helpless as i need laptop for my studies and just can't do without one.

They are fleecing students who have already taken a huge education loan and are not in a state to pay for another laptop. Kindly look into this and make sure that they are taught a lesson and deliver quality products to students. I will try to make sure that if they are not selected as a dealer in any of the IIM's further deals by telling other students about their fraudulent practices.
