No baterry backup

I have purchased a microtek ups (model no: HGE600AZ) in feb but from last two months ups is not giving a backup of even 1 sec. when i have called microtek helpline centre than they told me that the warranty of your ups battery is expired (1 year warranty of battery) so we will charge you 650 rs and not even we will come to your door step. they told me that the warranty of ups is 2 yrs but for battery its 1 yr.

how it can be baterry is the main part of ups and how come they will divide warranty into two parts.

PLZ HELP ME OUT.
