Keyboard problem and bad after-sales service

I bought an Acer Notebook Aspire One D260 on 9th September from Vijay Sales, Mumbai. Within 10 days its keyboard started to malfunction. An engineer from their outsourced customer service centre (RLC Pvt. Ltd., Andheri (E), Mumbai) visited my place on 23rd September and noted my complaint (case id: 092210-33). I was informed that the keyboard will be replaced within a week at the latest. Acer did not replace the keyboard within a week as promised. When I called them on 1st October, they promised me that the issue would be resolved by 5th October for sure. Even on 5th October I did not receive the new keyboard. When I called them, I was informed that they would take 2 to 4 days more to get the keyboard as the supplies had not come from Bangalore. They have been saying this from the beginning.

I informed them that it is unacceptable that a new netbook malfunctions within 10 days and the part is not replaced even after two weeks. I asked them for the telephone number of the national head of customer service. They said that they do not have the number but gave me the toll free number 1800116677 and an email address acer.cc@intarvo.com. Calling the toll free number was not of much help either. I bought the Acer netbook for work purposes and its malfunctioning is causing me enormous hardship.

I must say with great restraint that I am disappointed with Acer’s netbook and its after-sales service and would not advise others to purchase their netbooks.
