New connection denied due to unavailable ration card

I am newly married and i don't have ration card as it is of no use. I went to M/s Anugraha agencies in 8th main, Basaveshwar Nagar, Blore for new LPG cylinder connection. But they have rejected saying they need only RATION CARD as address proof and which is unfair since i have Passport, Rent agreement, RC issued by RTO.
