Dinner plate not microwave safe

Hi,

I bought a set of dinner plates from laopala from a shop near Crawford market. It specifically says that it is microwave safe.

When I was trying to heat (not cook) some food, the plate cracked into small pieces, damaging my microwave as well. it was in there for hardly 2 minutes when this happened.

Plz advice.
