Correction of surname spelling in 2 certificates

Respected Sir/Madam, I successfully passed my 2 in the year, 1999 but due to the negligence which might have occurred on my part or the school authorities, i later detected change in the spelling of my surname in the 2 (A.I.S.S.C.E.)certificates, as compared to what has been there in the matriculation certificates. Since i have all along been spelling my surname as entered in the matriculation certificates as that is the correct spelling of my surname, and the same exists in my other records also. For this, i requested at regional office ajmer along with all the required documents (i.e.principal's letter, attested photocopies of 2 certificates, attested admission records, required fees etc.)which have been asked to deposit but after a month i received a letter in which i have been told that as after 10 years such complaint cann't be entertained. I request you to please help me what should i do now?
