Change of venue of Exam centre, non-availability of study materials despite submitting requisite fees

Dear Sirs,

We, the students of MBA (Materials Management-2nd year) from Kolkata IIMM Branch, have been informed yesterday (16th November) by Mr. K.Gupta of Kolkata IIMM branch through his mobile message (Mobile no. 09830952363) that our 2nd year term end examination (Which is scheduled to start from 20th Nov. 2010 at the respective study centres) will be held at MPBhoj University situated at Bhopal instead of Kolkata-IIMM branch.

Under the above circumstances we would like to highlight the following issues :

During the admission to this course, it was clearly written in the prospectus that "annual examinations are conducted at the study centre of the IIMM branches".

Being a distance learning course, appearing for Examination in the Bhoj/Bhopal does not arise. Besides that nothing was written/mentioned in the printed prospectus, handed over to us by IIMM-Kolkata Branch during Admission.

Being an employee of an Private Organization, grant of 16-20 days leave for appearing in Examination of distance learning course is not accepted by the Management of Company. This has also the financial implication for travelling and boarding at Bhopal.

We have received the study materials just one month back though as per the instruction of IIMM-Kolkata, we had deposited the requisite fees as per stipulated schedule in the month of July.

Our humble questions to IIMM-MPBhoj Management are:

1. Why at 11th Hour this type of venue change decision is taken without considering the interest of Students?

2. Why, being a distance learning course, can impose the decision of appearing for Exam in the Bhopal Campus?

3. Who will be responsible for our physical and mental harassment?

4. Who will bear the cost of our travelling and boarding?

5. Who will guarantee to our job, if we loose our job for taking leave within a short notice periods of 3 days?

6. Incase, we the students of MBA-2nd year -IIMM-Kolkata branch can not afford to appear in the Bhopal, who will compensate the expenditure, already we have spent for the course?

We have tried to contact Mr. K.Gupta of IIMM-Kolkata and Mr. R.K.Ghosal (09810645374) of Delhi branch to get the answers to our futures... we are sorry to quote that except some misbehavior and confusing statements, we didn't get any support from them.

A verdict of JUSTICE and line of action is Expected from your end.
