Not reproducing the Receipt Bill for the paid Fee

I Lost my receipt for the fee paid of Rs. 1, 20, 000 to my university for Sem 3. And when i ask them to reproduce the receipt, I am being charged Rs 500 for that. Is this viable?

I want the bill for my bank loan proceedings. But i think its injustice to get the receipt by paying rs.500. Is this even legal? Don't i have right to get the receipt by without paying for it?
