Water discoloration after purification

We own a "aquaguard total gold nova". Since the beginning, the water that is purified and comes out of it has a yellowish discolouration. It is more evident when we store the water in a plastic bottle which also becomes stained yellow in due course of time. Having complained about that, the eureka forbes personnel asked us to store the water in a metal container and not in a plastic container. whats there in a container when the water itself is discolored. we are in doubt that the colour is due to some particles present in the filter for purification, and worried that it may cause some health hazards in long run
