Internal Display gone with a call

I have Blackberry Curve - 8520 which I had bought on 26th July from Mobile store with warranty of 18 months. While making a call I found that the internal display started showing some vertical lines and slowly the whole screen got faded. I visited your service center at Chandigarh to get the same changed but they refused to do the same under warranty and asked me to pay Rs 5900/- to get the same done. Service center manager told me that it does not matter "how the screen is gone" what matters is the policy of the company which will term it as damaged. I am not able to understand the fact that the mobile is not damaged from any place. The internal display has gone while pressing the call button, then how it can be termed as damaged? Calling up your helpline means waiting for the Customer care executive and then he will put you on a long hold which will get disconnected from your end. Visiting your service center is really a pain and the amount of mental stress that was given to me was very high. Please do the needful ASAP so I can start using the service. No actionable from your end would mean "that you do not want me to use blackberry" and move to another company.
