GETTING ERROR MESSGAE IN MANUAL & LANDSCAPE MODE WHILE SHOOTING A PIC

HI,

My name is Renzin & im from India.

I have bought a Canon 50D dslr camera from UAE about 2 years back.

I just love my Canon 50D & it gives me very good result when i click.

but recently camera shows an error message when i tried taking photos in "LANDSCAPE & MANUAL" Mode. Below given the error message that i'm getting.

ERR 01

COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE CAMERA AND LENS IS FAULTY.

CLEAN THE LENS CONTACTS.

This is the error message i'm getting.

Somebody please help me to understand what exactly the problem, so that i can tell this in service centre. Otherwise people sitting here in service centre will say something and they will charge more money.
