Disturbing mobile sms

My parents have been receiving anonymous sms since last many months from different mobile numbers the user of those numbers are unaware of this matter. we have also lodged a complain to the police regarding the matter, even my service provider airtel . but still have are not able to shed a light in the case .some time the sms are very disturbing in nature.

i would like to know is there any procedure to trace this culprits it ll be very helpful
