Yet another sucker who made the mistake of buying an inverter (two, if you count my cousin's house) from Global Innovatives.

Model Specs: Kevin IGBT (1450 W); Exide Invertor Plus.

The inverters were bought on June 27. Within six months, the batteries started squealing every time we used the inverter for a couple of hours. The inverters are used to run just lights and fans. I can't see how a couple of lights and fans can use up 1450 W. When I complained to Global, the lady on the phone told me that I should take the batteries to the nearest Exide dealer. I reminded her I have a warranty for 1 year and she said, "I am telling you this for your own good. If you take it there, you can get the job done quicker". However, I insisted and today they send me a completely incompetent fellow as their "service man". I asked him to look at the inverter and tell me what is the wattage (it says clearly on the top 1450 VA - but one look at the fellow and I knew he didn't know VA stands for Volt Amp = Watt). He told me "I can't tell from the model number". So, I asked him straight out, "how long are you at this job and what were you doing before taking up this job? " He smiled sheepishly and said, "I joined only this week. Previously, I was working as a delivery man for Fed Ex." All he did was to wipe the batteries with a dirty cloth and tell me that dust can cause your batteries to become ineffective. I felt so sorry for him that I couldn't even get angry.

So, if you are reading this, here is a tip: Never buy anything from Global Innovatives (5A, Thangam Colony, 6th Avenue, Anna Nagar West, Chennai 40) unless you feel like donating money to a bunch of swindlers. I guess I should call and register a complaint with Kevin Inverters. I hope they are more responsive than this lot. At the very least, I want to prevent more people from being suckered by Global Innovatives.
