Ants have invaded the space between the battery box and the outer cover and they are moving about in that space. When I called PureIT helpline on Dec 18th, Sunday morning, Ms. Shailaja told me that they have received many such complaints and they will send a technician to fix it.

The important question is not cleaning the system of the ants, but answering how and why the ants have got in to the system. If the system is properly sealed, ants should not be able to get in and if they have got in, there are organic impurities inside the system which attract them in to the system. The impurities may of course come from the water that is being purified, but how are they subsequently disposed of is the question to be answere.

The company should make a thorough investigation and withdraw the product till such time the cause is not identified and fixed.

I have photographs of the system with ants inside and but for the present am not publishing it here.
