Warranty Problem and Extremely Poor Service on Faulty Microwave

Electronics and household app.

We have purchased an IFB Microwave/Convection Oven (Model # MWO-IFB-30SC2) on 25th February for Rs. 11, 5000 from Next Retail Shop in Lajpat Nagar Market. The latch on the handle broke a week before the expiry of the warranty. IFB provided a complaint # was 5903791. The latch was fixed but the problem persisted and the microwave door never opened smoothly - we strongly suspect it is a design flaw or the part that was used to replace the original latch made the problem worse. On June 2nd, the whole door of the microwave came out because of the problem with the latch. We had to wait for more than two weeks before the door was fixed. All this while, we had to encounter a lot of inconvenience in the kitchen. Around 20th August, the microwave broke down again and it took another two weeks for IFB to provide a replacement part for it to start failing again in three weeks. We have spent close to Rs. 1, 350 on the repairs for something that surfaced during warranty and of all the hardship and inconvenience as the kitchen is running without microwave for substantial periods of time.

We have asked the company to replace the defective microwave with a brand new one and to refund the amount that we have spent on repairs. I request the Government to take a firm action with IFB so that the company does not get away with such poor after sales and warranty service and customers are not inconvenienced in this way. We are so frustrated with IFB microwave and repeated repairs which clearly do not work that we want to buy another microwave and want the money refunded because we can't be at the mercy of IFB. I request firm and decisive action.
