I purchased a Mobile Phone for Rs 4149.00 (full amount paid by Credit card on Feb 12) based on an Advt., placed by them in the TOI of Feb 11 on page 15. I was promised a delivery time of 13 days (Feb 25 - target date). On Feb 23rd when I called I was informed the order was placed on Feb 20th and now it will take 13 days. When I wanted to escalate the matter, I was given 2 email ID's (operationhead@indiatimes.com and customercare@indiatimes.com) - I had already written to these id's 3-4 times till this time with no response. When I wanted to escalate there were no names given to me at all. Then I thought of an old friend whose is a VP with one of the TOI group companies. He gave me the name, email ID and phone no of a VP at indiatimes.com. The indiatimes VP told me I should receive it by Mar 1. I finally got it by Mar 6!!!
This indiatimes VP had promised me some extra vouchers. I did get 3 totaling to Rs 1250.00, but all of them expired!!! Their customer care head claimed later on follow up that there is nothing they can do since it is a systemic error. The indiatimes VP also didnt reply after that.
Guys / Gals, please figure out for yourself this:
Even if you know someone inside the organization, that high up on the corporate ladder, with indiatimes, you are screwed!
